5 Ways to Refresh Your Website

Spring is here, and it’s the perfect time to breathe new life into your website! After all, your website is often a customer’s first impression of your organization—so let’s make sure it’s more “wow!” than “whoops.” If you’re looking for easy updates that make a big impact, here are 5 practical (and painless!) ways to revive your site this month.
Swap out your homepage images
Updating your homepage is one of the simplest ways to give your website a fresh look—think of it as swapping out your winter coat for a bright spring jacket. Replace old images with new photos that reflect the season’s energy: sunshine, flowers, and people who look like they’re enjoying the weather, not bracing against it. And while you’re at it, double-check for any lingering photos of Covid-era masks. (Unless your target audience is time travelers.)
Update your content
Outdated content can harm your credibility and SEO. Take this opportunity to do a little spring cleaning:
Look at your homepage, “About” page, or services section. Is anything outdated? If you’re still advertising your 2024 Black Friday sale, it’s time to let go.
Consider adding a spring-themed blog post to engage visitors. Bonus points if you can work in a pun about “growth” or “blossoming.”
Add new testimonials
Highlighting positive experiences builds trust and keeps your content current.
Showcase recent customer feedback or reviews. If you provide seasonal services, swap out those chilly winter reviews for ones that are a bit more sun-kissed.
No new testimonials? No problem! Just update the existing ones and make a note to ask your next happy customer for a glowing review.
Boost your Calls-to-Action (CTAs)
Spring is all about action—so give your visitors a reason to click!
Make your CTA buttons (like “Donate” or “Contact Us”) bold, bright, and irresistible. If you have a seasonal business, update them for spring, and set a reminder to refresh them each season.
And don’t forget placement: CTAs should be like garden gnomes—charming, impossible to miss, and popping up where visitors can’t help but notice (top of your homepage, key pages, and blog posts).
Check for broken links
Click around your website and make sure all of the links work.
If you find any that take you to an error page (like “404 Not Found”), fix them or remove them.
If you have a lot of links to partner sites, make a note to check these quarterly. (Or as often as you check your fridge for leftover Easter candy.)
These simple updates can help your website feel fresh and relevant—without requiring a ton of effort or a green thumb. Happy spring cleaning! 🌸
